Low-level laser therapy is the application of low-level lasers to serve a therapeutic purpose, in this case, to treat hair loss. Traditionally, LLLT has been in use for treating mild pains, skin diseases, and neurological conditions.
It was a Hungarian physician, Dr. Endre Mester, who discovered the therapeutic potential of low-level lasers for hair loss in the 1960s. He noted that treated areas have experienced thicker hair growth compared to the controlled area.
